Osmania University (OU) is a public university in the city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the oldest universities in India today. It was the first Indian University for Urdu as a language of instruction.
Founded in 1918 by the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad State, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, the higher education in India, the third oldest in South India and the first to settle in the former princely state of Hyderabad. For almost nine decades, there was a holistic development of all faculties. Helped to develop academically, socially and economically in the region and the nation as a whole.
