Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin's representative, confirmed that the Queen of Soul "is alive and well after it became the latest victim of a joke about the death of the Internet.

    "Respect" singer, who recently operated on for an illness rumors of pancreatic cancer was reported dead Monday.

    But his spokesman has criticized the claims, said: "Aretha is fine."

    Franklin is the latest star that has faced the death hoax. Actor Charlie Sheen was falsely reported that he died in a snowboarding accident on Sunday and singer Aaron Carter also denied reports he died last week.

    It is believed that the legend of Motown 68 years was diagnosed with cancer in the same murder of Patrick Swayze and Michael Landon, but not yet confirmed or denied.

    Although this cancer is only 5 to 10 percent survival rate, Franklin said in a press release that had a successful operation.

    Last month, the singer announced he would cancel all concert dates and personal appearances through May on the orders of their doctors.

    This was after he had spent a week at Detroit's Sinai-Grace Hospital after a "serious illness".
