Sri Krishna Committee Report

C. Committee on Justice on the question of Telangana state has submitted its report on the feasibility of spin-off of a separate state of Andhra Pradesh, the Union Minister, P. Chidambaram Thursday.After noted the report in two volumes, Chidambaram said the committee recommendations Srikrishna onTelangana with the political parties discussed and added that it is known sixth be January 2011. Telangana region comprises 10 districts, including Warangal, Adilabad, Khammam, Mahabubnagar (the largest district) together, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak and Hyderabad.


Congress has 21 members in Andhra Pradesh and 12 of them are of the Telengana region. The state elects 33 members Lok Sabha. The 12 deputies from the Telengana Congress under pressure to resign over the issue of a separate state for the region.

The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had on Wednesday a one-hour meeting with Chidambaram, Minister of Justice, Veerappa Molly, the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjeeand Defence Minister AK Antony, to discuss the situation in the light of the report.


Srikrishna Committee's mandate includes:


(1) the situation in the state of Andhra Pradesh on the application of a separate Telangana state, and the requirement, the current status of a united Andhra Pradesh to keep.
(2) since The changes in the state of its formation and its impact on the progress and development to examine the various regions of the country.
(3) To assess the impact of recent events in the state in different parts of the population such as women, children, students, minorities, other backward classes, castes and tribes.
(4) addressed to identify the main problems when the questions are referred to in paragraphs (1), (2) and (3).
(5) to ask for all sectors of the population, including the political parties on the above issues and their opinion of the political parties and other organizations a range of solutions that meet the current difficult situation and to promote well-being of all sectors of the population, identify optimal solutions for this purpose, and recommend an action plan and roadmap.

The Committee was established by the Ministry of the Interior, after critics P Chidambram 9th December last year that the move would call Andhra resolution for the formation of a separate Telangana state.
