Bye Bye 2010

Bollywood has bid bye bye to 2010, which was more of sour for the industry than sweet.
But let's hope 2011 will be a good year for the Industry.
However, Bollywood has always been our best source of entertainment, let's bid goodbye to Bollywood  by looking back at what swept our hearts away and what made us say ‘this is crap’.
Bollywood Movies 2010:
Dabangg: This was not just the biggest blockbuster of the year 2010 but also highest ever grossing movie in the history of Indian cinema. The movie marked the successful debut of director Abhinav Kashyap, producer Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.
Golmaal 3: The movie was a sequel of movie Golmaal, which was released in year 2008. Director Rohit Shetty again succeeded in giving super hit movie to the Bollywood in year 2010.

Once Upon a Time in Mumbai: The movie was based on a real life underworld don. It covered the growth of the Mumbai underworld, from crime and smuggling in its early stages through its connection with international terrorism in recent times.played by Ajay Devgan. It was directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Rajneeti: Rajneeti was a political thriller directed and produced by Prakash Jha, The lead roles were played by Katrina KAif, Ranbeer Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal and Nana Patekar. As per the director the movie was inspired from the epic ‘MahaBharat’.
My Name is Khan: A significant film from the Karan Johar. The lead roles were played by Johar’s favourites Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The movie not just in India but well in overseas also.
Peepli Live: There were some movies that were neither hits nor flops like 'Housefull', and 'Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge'. While 'Badmaash Company', 'I Hate Luv Storys', 'Break Ke Baad', 'Anjaana Anjaani', 'Tere Bin Laden' and 'Phas Gaye Re Obama' and Love Sex aur Dhoka did average business.
Meanwhile, the year saw big movies such as 'Kites', 'Raavan', 'Rakta Charitra - Part I and II', 'Veer', 'Action Replayy', 'Guzaarish' and 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' bite the dust.
Special Mention:
Robot (Endhiran) and Rajnikanth: India’s highest paid actor, 61-year-old Rajinkanth, played the role of the scientist and also his robot creation in the movie.

The three versions of the film (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) have together collected Rs. 950 million in the opening weekend (October 1-3). The movie in its Tamil and Telugu version did extremely well at the Box office. It created a furore in Bollywood too with its Hindi version. Rajinikanth conquered Bollywood in his own way in 2010. The actor, who turned 61 this month, set the Box Ofice on fire with Robot.

Not just he ruled the box office but his jokes have also become very popular. If we check our mobile inbox, it must be carrying at least one SMS joke of his.
Bollywood Heroes 2010:
Salman Khan: Nobody beats this "Bigg Boss" when it comes to pleasing audiences with his authenticity and irrevocable charm. Living up to his "Wanted" legacy, 'Robinhood Pandey' stood tall as the invincible king of Bollywood this year with his mofussil mazaa providing contemporary vintage corrupt cop saga "Dabangg" that flushed the debacle of his first release of the year "Veer" to obscurity.

Ajay Devgan: Comedy, politics, action - you name it, he's done it. Proving his mettle with the maximum releases for an actor this year in "Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?" "Raajneeti", "Golmaal 3", "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai" and the forgetful "Aakrosh", the National Award winner emerged as the most versatile and dependable actor. To top it all, he is set to close the year with the live-action animation "Toonpur Ka Superhero".
Ranbir Kapoor: Nobody believed that this Kapoor family scion will portray the nuances of a conniving and scheming politician with such perfection in "Raajneeti". But this chocolate boy turned into desi Michael Corleone and surprised everyone with his immaculate performance in the political thriller that hit bull's eye at the box office.
Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik gave a powerful performance in Guzaarish. In which he played the role of Ethen Mascarenhas,  a quadriplegic patient.
Bollywood Heroines 2010:
Katrina Kaif: Ramp to rampage - this model-turned-actress has taken Bollywood by storm. Continuing her habit of turning a movie into a hit, the gorgeous face with a stiff upper lip that has now gone desi rocked the box office with her chaste Hindi volleys in Prakash Jha's political thriller "Raajneeti".
Kajol: There is nothing that she can't do. Daughter, actress, wife, mother - Kajol's dormant comings and goings on the big screen took a surprise turn when the dusky beauty returned with three outings this year, "My Name is Khan", "We Are Family" and "Toonpur Ka Superhero".
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave power pact performances in all her films of 2010 including, Guzaarish, Raavan and Action Replay. Her movie Endhiraan (Robot) broke all the records and did extremely well at Bollywood and down South.
Kareena Kapoor: Kareena Kapoor had a good year in 2010. Her Golmaal 3 did amazing business, fetching more than 100 crores, while We are Family did average business.

Deepika Padukone: Deepika Padukone had maximum releases in 2010 and she gave hits and flops of various shapes and sizes. Karthik Calling Karthik flopped but was appreciated by the critics, Lafangey Parindey did average, Break ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se were big flops while she got a hit in Housefull.
Vidya Balan: If the leading ladies in B-Town hit the gym with a vengeance to shed the extra kilos, Vidya hogged until she turned herself into a deglam, voluptuous and conniving woman for "Ishqiya". Mouthing expletives soaked in chemical derivatives, this "Parineeta" girl turned femme fatale and left men scratching their brains.
Debutants 2010:
Sonakshi Sinha: What would you do if your debut project was with none other than Salman The Khan? Hit the metal and cut down flab! Perhaps the perfect example of fat to fab, Shatru 'Shotgun' Sinha's daughter made a "Dabangg" debut in the year's highest grosser. Getting into the star mode day by day, this one's sure a dark horse

Barbara Mori: Mexican charm was to be seen in the movie Kites. Though the film was the biggest of duds, Barbara did win a lot of fans.
Aruna Shields: She was smokin’ hot in her debut film Prince and also in her second offering Mr Singh Mrs Mehta (topless scenes). Anglo-Indian actress Aruna Sheilds is very much into theatre and she is aiming not only for Bollywood but also Hollywood.

Shalini Vatsa: Ever thought Dhaniya from "Peepli Live" would have an M. Phil degree? No one did, but this full time theatre actress left audiences applauding at her rants in the satire with her splendid portrayal of a rustic, illiterate, short-tempered mother of three with zeal.

Zarine Khan: Zarine Khan entered in the film industry with Veer, in which she plyed lead role opposite Salman Khan. She is known for her resemblance with Katrina kaif.
Ali Zafar: While illegal Bollywood discs run on the neighbouring nation's home theatres with panache, the Hindi film industry got an original import in Zafar from Pakistan to produce a sleeper hit "Tere Bin Laden". As for the singer-actor's performance, he definitely left the fairer sex wanting for more.
Omkar Das Manikpuri: No six packs, no film connections and no fanfare, but still this 39-year-old native from Bhilai managed to make his place in a billion hearts with his vulnerable, suicidal and tattered appearance as soon as his modest debut "Peepli Live" hit the screens. The result - you had the common man and now he's got a name, Natha.

Ranvir Singh: Again no pomp and show and no filmy father but this lad from Mumbai managed to do just the appropriate justice to his role as a Delhi munda in Yash Raj Films' hit "Band Baaja Baaraat". With a dream debut and a petite co-star in Anushka Sharma, he was praised for carrying both the film and the actress on his shoulders.
Aditya Roy Kapoor: VJ turned actor Aditya Roy Kapoor is surely a star in making. His performance in Guzaarish and Action replay has been appreciated by both critics and Bollywood hotshots.

Luv Sinha (Sadiyaan): Luv Sinha, son of famous Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha, made his debut this year in ‘Sadiyaan’, directed by Raj Kanwar. Though Luv portrayed his role honestly, unfortunately, the multi-starrer film failed to ignite the box-office and was criticised by the critics

Most Popular Songs of 2010:

"Dil toh bachcha hai jee": It was a melodious beginning to the year with the romantic number from "Ishqiya".
Sajda": Composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy mesmerised listeners with this song from the film "My Name Is Khan". Once again sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan along with Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma, the Sufi number tugged at one's heartstrings.

Bin tere: The song from "I Hate Luv Storys" managed to bring out the hidden romantic side in all of us. It was composed by director duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravijiani.

Pee loon: The soft love ballad from the crime thriller "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai" still occupies air time on most of the radio channels.
Munni badnaam hui: One of the most popular item numbers of the year, the fast-paced, catchy song with a rustic flavour
created a nationwide sensation. Composed by Lalit Pandit and sung by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya, "Munni..." from the superhit film "Dabangg" is still ruling the roost.

Tere mast mast do nain:"Dabangg" gave another hit in "Tere mast...", but this time the composers were brothers Sajid-Wajid. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan crooned the moderately paced romantic track with such expertise that it made people sit up and take notice.

"Zor ka jhatka": Even though the film failed to take off at the box office, this song from "Action Replayy" flew higher and higher on popularity charts.
"Sheila Ki jawaani": As they say the best is always reserved for the last, this song appeared almost at the end of the year and was an instant hit thanks to its urban appeal and a raunchy feel. It's giving competition to "Munni badnaam hui" for the best item number crown.

Bollywood Controversies 2010:
Chetan Bhagat vs Aamir Khan Controversy: Chetan was upset that his name was given in the last credits of the movie. The Director Rajkumar Hirani said the film was partially inspired from the book and the writer had approved everything. Aamir Khan stepped in to defend the writer of 3 Idiots and the producers. Later the controversy ended when all of them realized that there was no point in dragging it on.
Abhishek Bachchan vs Prahlad Kakkar controversy: Adman Prahlad Kakkar said that Abhishek Bachchan is an example of a film family actor. He said that Abhishek despite giving 17 flops, is still surviving in the industry as he is son of Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek hit him back using the social networking site twitter 'I'm already in the Guinness Book of World Records and a very proud son. I hope you give your sons an opportunity to say the same someday.'

Priyanka Chopra vs Kareena Kapoor: It was all started by Kareena Kapoor at the show Kofee with Karan., where she made a comment on Priyanka Chopr. Our own Piggy too used the same show to give it back to Bebo.
Shobhaa De vs Sonam Kapoor: Celebrated columnist Shobhaa De did not like Sonam’ movie and tweeted about it on her tweeter account. Sonam straight took her on and tweeted an offensive comment about her. The matter was heated up.
Rape case against Shiney Ahuja: The actor was accused of rape by her maid servant. He even had to spend few days in judicial custody. Later the the maid retracted her statement.
Yana Gupta no panty show: Yana Gupta appeared pantyless at an social event for kids. A photographer managed to catch those glimpses in his camera. The photographs were surfaced all over the net.

Salman Khan vs Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Salman reportedly made fun of Sanjay’s Guzaarish. The matter was so heated up that both of them decided not to work together.

Billy the Kid testified, but the proposed pardon never happened, something illegal, complains that he escaped the law, get caught, then escaped again before they shot in the dark, a representative of the Law of the border in 1881.
Some historians suspect that Mr. Wallace has never explicitly grant an amnesty to the outlaws, the name of Henry and William H. Bonney McCarty bore offered, and perhaps trying to deceive you. Just before Wallace left office, told the newspaper: "I do not see how a man like him should expect no mercy from me."
Mr. Richardson's decision to consider a pardon Billy the Kid drew strong reactions in the state as the history of New Mexico - the more so because people who say the family relationship of the central figures of the drama still live there.
Think about forgiveness, spoke with Dr. Richardson three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of Sheriff Pat Garrett, the lawman who killed Billy the Kid. They opposed the proposal of the amnesty of illegal and an affront to their ancestors, and the grandson of Wallace, William Wallace.
Mr. Richardson's office has created a website to gather opinions on the issue and received responses from around the world. In e-mails and letters from supporters of a reorganization, not more, 430 to 379th
But Mr. Richardson said he decided not to act "because of the lack of firepower and historical ambiguity that Governor Wallace looks back on his promise."
