Beerfest Asia 2011

Beerfest Asia 2011
Raise a glass to the annual Beerfest Asia. It's back - and bigger and better than ever.

The four-day festival, which starts today, is expected to attract 30,000 people in total.

It attracted 25,000 last year, and 15,000 in 2009 when it debuted.

New features include stand-up comedy performances, futsal competitions, and a conference on beer brewing techniques.

The event at the Marina Promenade will also showcase more than 300 types of beer from all around the world, up from 250 last year. There will also be live performances, beer auctions and food tasting.

The event is jointly organised by Sphere Exhibits - a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings - and Beerfest, a subsidiary of Timbre Group.

It will be held from 6 p.m. today until 1a.m., from 6 a.m. tomorrow and Saturday until 2 a.m., and from noon until 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are available at the door, and cost $32 today and Sunday, and $37 tomorrow and Saturday. A ticket is valid for multiple entries on that day, and includes two beers.
