Vinod Khanna

The over 300 blood and urine samples collected from those present at theKhalapur rave party have been sent to the state forensic laboratory at Kalina in Mumbai to check if the revellers were under the influence of any narcotic substances.

The Raigad superintendent of police, R D Shinde, told TOI: "It will take a few days for the medical reports of the revellers to arrive. This will enable us to know what kind of drugs or psychotropic substances were being used.''

Shinde added the police investigation was on to nab the sixth accused, Vicky Shah, who was one of the party's promoters. The other five accused, including the suspended police inspector Anil Jadhav of the Anti-Narcotics Cell, have been remanded to police custody till July 2.

Meanwhile, a police official has confirmed to TOI that Sakshi Khanna, among the 300 persons detained at the Mount View Resort in Khalapur, was indeed the son of veteran actor Vinod Khanna. The rave party revellers were mainly residents of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and a few were from Pune .

Many of their worried parents and family members had rushed to Khalapur late on Sunday night after they came to know about the surprise police raid at the resort.

"Our children are innocent, they had only come here to party. They were not indulging in any drugs that were seized from the venue,'' one parent told mediapersons.

Another youngster who was rounded up told mediapersons that he had to sell his mobile phone to raise around Rs 20,000 in cash in order to get entry to the party. He too denied being under the influence of drugs. The organisers had mainly advertised about the party on social networking sites.
