It's double trouble for Anushka Sharma. The actress, who was detained at Mumbai airport by customs for carrying unaccounted jewellery, will now face interrogation by Income Tax officials on her wealth.
The actress, who was returning from Toronto post IIFA Awards, was stopped by the Custo
ms while passing through the green channel. Anushka possessed gold and diamond-studded jewellery and two watches collectively worth Rs 35 lakhs approximately, officials said.
Sharma landed at 2.30 pm and was questioned till past midnight. She was released by the Custom department after nine hours.
The actress claimed that she had taken the valuables from India and had declared the goods at that time.
Previously, Minissha Lamba and Bipasha Basu were also detained by Customs for carrying valuables from aboard.
