Those who wish to launch careers in psychology may want to consider earning advanced credentials. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities in this field will be best for those who have completed higher levels of education, such as master's degrees.
This week, Walden University announced in a press release that it has launched two new web-based programs within its School of Psychology. These offerings include an online master's degree in clinical psychology as well as an online bachelor's degree in forensic psychology.
The new graduate program offers students an overview of the intellectual, emotional and biological aspects of human behavior. It also teaches how to foster psychological health in individuals and among families, groups and organizations. This degree track includes an optional specialization in counseling, which is designed to instruct students about the various models in this field, such as substance abuse, career and couples therapy.
Walden's new baccalaureate program features coursework on psychology and the legal system. This includes training on how to profile criminals, predict criminal behavior and victim outcomes, gather relevant psychological data, prepare critical background information and advocate for victims' rights.
