Kratika Sengar |
Are you enjoying your new role as Jhansi Ki Rani on television?
“It’s grand. I love it .I think as a person, Rani Lakshmibai is a huge inspiration for every one in every way. I am enjoying that a very early start of my career, I am doing this historical woman's character.”
Are you comfortable on the sets of the show?
“Yes, I am trying to find my space. As far as the crew is concerned ,I have got mixed reactions to my work as of now. On one hand, their expectations are very high from someone who’s taking over from their dear Ulka Gupta. They’re emotionally attached to her, which I think its natural .”
Are you nervous because Ulka has made her mark through this show and has made this show a success?
“Honestly speaking, she has done a wonderful job and I appreciate her for that. I can’t compare myself with her and I will do what the senior actor and creatives will say about the character's growth.”
Have you met Ulka personally?
“She is wonderful girl and I wish all the best to this talented actor."
About meeting with Salman Khan she said, "He's been a complete sweetheart. We bumped into each other a couple of times just outside the set. He was very encouraging when he heard that I'm gearing up to play the role of Rani Lakshmi Bai. He even offered me tips on horse-riding and stunts."
If the buzz is anything to go by, Salman is completely floored by Kratika's arresting persona and has even recommended her name to a couple of film producers. With such positive reports about Kratika already doing the rounds, one cannot wait for young 'Manu' to grow up. While the audience will miss the immensely talented Ulka Gupta who played the younger Jhansi Ki Rani with aplomb, all eyes are now firmly focused on Kratika Sengar.
So don’t forget to watch grown up Manu-Rani Lakshimi Bai in Jhansi Ki Rani every Monday to Friday at 8 pm only on Zee TV.
