UCLA

UCLA
UCLA appears to be going at the 2011-12 recruiting season a bit differently than last year.

The Bruins picked up three commitments over the weekend, which gives then four for the week and six total. They didn't get their first commitment last year until July.

The three new pledges came from defensive back Raymond Ford from Junipero Serra (Gardena, Calif.), 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end Ian Taubler from Bullard HS (Fresno, Calif.), and 6-foot-3, 325-pound offensive lineman Mario Yakoo of Steele Canyon HS (Spring Valley, Calif.).

Ford was also offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and SMU. Taubler had offers from Arizona, Fresno State, Oregon State and USC. Yakoo also considered Arizona and Air Force.

One other weekend recruiting note: Washington got a commitment from punter Korey Durkee of Gig Harbor HS (Gig Harbor, Wash.).
