OU Degree Results 2011

Half of the students who appeared for the Osmania University’s BA, B.Com and B.Sc final year exams this year have failed, according to the results announced on Wednesday. While OU officials blamed “fewer working days” for colleges on account of Telangana agitations on campus, the Osmania University Joint Action Committee alleged “conspiracy” by evaluators from Seema-Andhra region to scuttle the T-movement by failing majority of the students.
The OU-JAC has decided to launch an agitation programme demanding revaluation of answer scripts by evaluators from Telangana. While a total of 70,620 appeared for the final exams, only 35,289 passed, recording a pass percentage of just 49.97. In BA and B.Com, the pass percentage fell by nearly 10 per cent over last year and in B.Sc it came down by 1 per cent. \In all 2,19,335 candidates comprising 1,18,906 boys and 1,00,429 girls had appeared for the degree (I, II and III years) examinations. The course-wise break up was 31,773 for BA, 1,01,596 for B.Com and 85,966 for B.Sc.
Out of 9,438 students who appeared for their BA final year exams, only 4,416 passed, while in B.Com, out of 31,703 who appeared, 15,960 cleared the exams. In B.Sc, 14,913 out of 30,109 students cleared the exams. “We will analyse the results to find out what went wrong. There were fewer working days for colleges on account of T-agitation,” said Prof. D.N. Reddy, in-charge VC of OU. Students can collect their marks from their respective colleges after July 1. The last date for applying for revaluati-on/recounting is July 5. Temporary online memos will be available for `25 through DD at the examination branch from June 25.
