Indian model-turned-actress Aishwarya Rai is pregnant with her first child.
The Bride and Prejudice star, who the US news show 60 Minutes once dubbed the most beautiful woman in the world, will give birth later this year.
The former Miss World is married to Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, the son of Indian movie legend Amitabh Bachchan, who broke the news on Tuesday via Twitter.com.
The veteran actor wrote: "I am going to become a grandfather! Aishwarya is expecting! So happy and thrilled!"
Rai and Bachchan wed in 2007.
The star of more than 40 India films, Rai is best-known to English speaking audiences for her starring role in Bride and Prejudice but she also starred in The Mistress of Spices, co-starring Dylan McDermott, and she played Sonia Solandres in The Pink Panther 2.
Rai's latest film Heroine is a Hindi production scheduled for release next year.
