UTV, a media and entertainment conglomerate from South Asia launches the ultimate action destination in Andhra Pradesh with “UTV Action Telugu”. Padma Bhushan Megastar Dr. Chiranjeevi graced the launch of the channel by unveiling the logo in classic action style capturing the true essence of the channel. UTV Action Telugu will showcase fast – paced action content from Hollywood in Telugu giving viewers a chance to enjoy their favourite action flicks now in their very own language! The high octane channel joins the existing channel bouquet of UTV that comprises of UTV Bindass, UTV World Movies, UTV Movies and UTV Action Hindi.


UTV Action Telugu will reach out to the action oriented male audience in the age group of 15 years and above looking for the ultimate action destination in Andhra. It builds on the success of UTV Action Hindi which enjoys the largest loyalty among male viewers in the Hindi speaking markets and boasts of supreme quality dubbing.

Foraying into Andhra with an action packed library, the channel will showcase multiple blockbuster titles comprising of Hellboy, Book of Eli, Angels and Demons, The Bounty Hunter, Bad Boys, Karate Kid and several others. On the first day of the launch the channel will telecast back to back Hollywood titles like Spiderman, Kung Fu Hustle, XXX, Men in Black, Hancock and The One. UTV Action Telugu has put together a thrilling  action packed weekend slot for its viewers and will captivate them with key properties like ‘Saturday Premiere Gharjanaa’ and ‘Sunday Sungramam’ along with a special creature feature slot on Monday -‘Monday Maha Monster’. In a bid to bring the best of action content to its viewers, the channel will also showcase Telugu premieres of popular titles released last year within three months of their Indian television premiere.

The launch of UTV Action Telugu is supported by a high intensity marketing campaign designed around the thought – ‘Action invades Andhra’, to ensure optimum visibility across platforms including TV, print and outdoor along with an extensive on – ground activation plan. The channel is also associating with single screen theaters in over 25 cities and multiplexes across key markets like Hyderabad, Vizag and Vijaywada to promote its launch.
