A bus driver and two passengers died after a passenger bus fell from the Skyway along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) this morning.
A report by radio dzMM said a bus unit of Dimple Star Transport with body number 7511 had just entered the Skyway when it suddenly went wayward and fell.
The incident happened past 11 a.m. today.
Ed Nepomuceno, an official in-charge of the Skyway operations, said during the radio interview that at least seven people, including the driver and conductor, were inside the bus when the incident happened.
The driver was declared dead around 1 p.m. at the ParaƱaque Medical Center. Two more passengers, who were earlier reportedly in critical condition, were declared dead hours later.
Four more people, including the bus' conductor, sustained wounds in the accident.
A report by ABS-CBN News Channel said that based on the account of the conductor, the bus was struck by a very strong wind before they fell off the Skyway.
The accident caused heavy traffic along SLEx as rescuers and Skyway personnel remove the bus.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has suspended the franchise of the bus company, pending investigations on the incident.
