Barcelona are not as certain of victory over South American giants Internacional in the semi-finals of the Audi Cup as their odds suggest, says Michael Lintorn.
Of the many prestigious pre-season friendly tournaments taking place this year, few have a line-up capable of rivalling the Audi Cup.
The Munich-based competition features Champions League holders Barcelona, 2010 Copa Libertadores winners Internacional, Serie A champions AC Milan and German giants Bayern Munich and all four games are available for Betfair customers to watch courtesy of theLive Video service.
The first match pairs the European champions against the recently dethroned South American kings, and rather surprisingly, the gap in class is judged to be a fairly huge one, with Barcelona1.32 favourites and Internacional, who are having a tough time of it domestically, rated8.8 outsiders.
It is a fairly harsh verdict on the Brazilian behemoths though, not least because they were victorious when the two teams last met in the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup Final, in the process becoming the last non-European side to claim that trophy.
They also have the benefit of being midway through the Brazilian league campaign and therefore - in theory at least - are better prepared, even if several recent results would suggest otherwise, while Barcelona's summer didn't get underway too impressively with a 0-0 draw away to Hajduk Split.
Pep Guardiola's men aren't always the strongest starters, last season losing the first leg of their Super Cup tie with Sevilla and their second La Liga fixture at home to promoted Hercules, so there are reasons to ponder a small-stakes lay at 1.39.
If the thought of opposing the 3.0 Champions League favourites, who have only signed Alexis Sanchez so far this summer, is too much for you however, another juicy price to consider is under 2.5 goals at 2.44. Their previous clash saw just one, and some key forwards are missing for both.
In the later semi-final, hosts Bayern Munich appear an even more attractive lay at 1.83against AC Milan, who they haven't beaten in six competitive meetings.
Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.44 in Barcelona v Internacional
Other Recommended Bet: Lay Bayern Munich @ 1.83 v AC Milan
