Nancy Grace

Nancy Grace is a star when it comes to US news, and her fiery sensationalistic style of journalism has led to incredible ratings for HLN and repeated appearances on Good Morning America. She is the go to person for the Casey Anthony trial, but is that fair to the accused?
You cannot argue with success. Her ratings have gone up 85% from last year, and she continues to fight the fight, whether good or not, against Casey Anthony, and those that she perceives as guilty. There is no questioning the charisma of Grace and the entertainment value, but the media can and does control public sentiment much of the time, and those that watch Grace have one conclusion: Casey is guilty.
Grace named Casey the “Tot Mom,” shows pictures and video of Caylee, the deceased 2 year old, over and over again, and drives the point home. Casey is a partier, a bad mother, a selfish person looking for no responsibility and killed her daughter to achieve that.
From the reports from the courtroom, the live TV coverage of the trial, and the investigation facts, it does appear that Casey is guilty, but RSR has put out several polls to see what the people had thought about the case and from our statistics, Casey is supported by 11% of the readership. They either believe that she is not guilty or believe that she was so messed up from the molestation that her father allegedly did to her, that she needs help, not prison time.
It’s human nature to believe the negative over the positive. Perhaps it is because it is more compelling to us. We find entertainment in the darker side of humanity and Nancy Grace is exposing this and exploiting it for gain. Her shows are entertaining and her opinion is pounded into the head of the viewer. She is a bully host that has a huge following, and it has to have some effect on the Casey Anthony trial.
The jury is deliberating, the public is waiting, and the fate of Casey Anthony hangs in the balance. The biggest effect that Grace will have on this trial is if Casey is found not guilty. Casey will never live it down, never be away from public condemnation, and if she is found innocent, she should be left alone. It’s the system, but much of the public wants blood and we’ll have to wait and see what happens if they don’t get it.
