The Kerala CBSE School Managements' Association has said that teachers from class I to VIII should qualify the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) organised by the CBSE as per the provisions of Right To Education (RTE)Act.
The statement was issued by association president T P M Ibrahim Khan.
As per section 23 of RTE Act 2009, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) through a notification issued on August 2010, has made it clear that teachers with unaided and private schools should pass the CTET. The Centre has entrusted the state government and CBSE with the responsibility of conducting the test. The test will be held on June 10.
CBSE teachers should pass CTET, not the TE test by the state government, the statement issued by the association said.
