Magellan

A NUMBER of Esperance community organisations are set to receive a contribution of $236,861 from Magellan Metals as part of the third and final year of the Magellan Community Fund. The mining company, which was involved in the Esperance lead event in 2007, had previously indicated that they wanted to do as much as they could to help the Esperance community, and have aimed their funds at 10 local community projects.
Pink Lake Urban Rural Fire Brigade is to be presented with a $50,000 contribution towards upgrading their existing facilities as part of the station’s expansion.
The project will provide room to store a third tanker as well as facilities for an increased volunteer member base, improving change facilities, training area, communications room and secure work area.
The expansion will help the fire brigade to continue to deliver vital protection services to the ever-developing community and to support other local emergency service providers.
