Nick Cannon

In what Mariah Carey’s rep described as a moment “right out of an ‘I Love Lucy’ skit,” Nick Cannon was so overcome by nerves when wife Mariah Carey went into labor that he would up in the wrong section of a Los Angeles hospital, and had to be guided to the maternity ward by a nurse!
Now, the nerves have given way to pride and awe as the new daddy revels in fatherhood.
“My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!” NickTweeted on Saturday, following the birth of his and Mariah’s twin baby boy and girl – who, coincidentally, were born on the couple’s wedding anniversary. “I won’t ever be able to top this!”
“I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been in my life,” he added on Sunday. “I never had more amazing things happening. I am humbled by God’s Favor!”
Friends of the power couple immediately took to Twitter to share their happiness over Nick and Mimi’s double bundle of joy.
“Just got the news! Congrats Mr and Mrs Cannon on ur twin babies!!” Boyz II Men posted on their Twitter page on Saturday. “Look forward to sleepless nights for the next few weeks, trust me lol!”
Also showing her support was rapper Nicki Minaj, who wrote, “Congratulations Mariah & Nick!!!!!!!!! The twins have finally landed on earth!!!Yaaayyyyy!!!!!”
Producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Alyssa Milano also Tweeted their congratulations.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the 41-year-old singing superstar gave birth at 12:07 p.m. EDT on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles, Mariah’s rep, Cindi Berger.
Mariah and Nick’s baby girl was reportedly born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; while her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches.
The couple first announced their pregnancy to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush back in October, confirming what had been a whirlwind of media speculation.
“Yes, we are pregnant, this is true!” Mariah told Billy at the time. “It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy… At this point, there is no choice. I either talk or I hibernate.”
