Week 7 results are in and ex-stripper, former Playboy playmate and reality show star Kendra Wilkinson and partner Louis Van Amstel were voted off "Dancing with the Stars." No longer will viewers (and judges) see bodacious booty-shaking in the Latin dances and her lack of technique in everything else, but they'll have to live with that.
Kendra was savvy enough to be gracious in her departure, thanking her partner, who only said, "It was an awesome journey." I'll bet it was -- she was glued to Louis like wallpaper in their tepid tango, hanging on for dear life.
Hopefully, the experience of almost getting booted was a wake-up call for the other two couples in the bottom three -- Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Chelsea
Kane and Mark Ballas.
DWTS was more padded than ever -- first, a two-hour show Monday, and then the results show Tuesday was preceded by a "special" or encore show since ABC must have nothing to fill the 8 o'clock hour. This week, the theme was "Ballroom Greats" and there was an extra judge (pro dancer Donnie Burns), and two or three extra professional dance champions (I lost count) to show the celebrities routines that they can only dream of being able to perform.
There was a two-team cha cha competition with Chelsea and Hines Ward as captains. Team Chelsea (Chelsea and Mark, Romeo and Chelsie Hightower, and Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff), clad in shiny, sparkly, sexy black, took the floor first and received two 8s and two
7s for a total of 30. Then Team Hines (Hines and Kym Johnson, Kirstie and Maks, and Kendra and Louis), dressed in shocking pink and brown (brown?)! Their scores were two 8s and two 7s for the same total: 30. So, all the competition did was eat up lots of time and tire out the celebrities.
The team scores of 30 were added to all of the couples' individual scores, resulting in Ralph and Hines, and their partners, topping the leaderboard with 36 for a total of 66. Judge Donnie Burns gave Ralph and Karina their first 10 for the quickstep, while judge Bruno Tonioli served up a 10 for the tango of Hines and Kym.
Chelsea and Mark scored 34 and a total of 64 for their almost too-aggressive paso doble, and the tepid tango by Kendra and Louis was good for 31 and a total of 61. The bottom of the leaderboard belonged to Kirstie and Maks for their disjointed jive, and Romeo and Chelsie for a strange samba. It seemed that she was shaking her hips like crazy to divert the judges from his leaden footwork. Both couples scored 30 with a total of 60.
Now that we are down to five couples and only a few weeks from the finals, it's time for the celebrities and pros to pull out all the stops and really show how much -- or how little -- they want to take home that mirror ball trophy.
Do you agree with which celebrity was kicked out? Does Kirstie have a chance for the finals? Do you believe that Maks and Karina could be in such good moods, laughing and smiling with their partners?
