Banished Words

The beginning of 2011 brings us all a fresh start - and thanks to Lake Superior State University, we know that words and sentences, to cleanse us from our vocabulary and start over.

    As expected, two Palinisms fact "each year a list of words banished from the Queen's English for misuse and general uselessness," Lake Superior, the 36th in his Year. Techie terms like "epic" and "no" also won its fair share of proposals, but the ubiquitous term "viral" ultimately came at # 1.     Since 1976, Lake Superior State lists of words ready to be thrown into the global lexicon prepared.
