Researchers at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Engineering and SATA CommHealth have invented a faster method of tuberculosis of the screen (TB).

The detection of tuberculosis affects multiple procedures over time, including bacteriological culture tests.

But now it takes about five minutes, the researchers analyzed the structure of the lungs in X-rays with a software developed for them.

The researchers said they have achieved a success rate of 90 percent accurate in detecting the incidence of tuberculosis patients since the investigation began in November.

This new tool helps computers and the efficiency of the radiologist.

Collin Tan, diagnostic imaging services with SATA CommHealth manager said. "We are currently about 16,000 per month chest radiographs and radiologists only two reports of chest radiographs With this tool, we hope to help radiologists filter suspected tuberculosis and increase productivity."
