4.1-Magnitude Earthquake

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 struck in the provisional east of San Jose this afternoon and was felt in many parts of the Bay Area, U.S. Geological Survey after survey.
The quake was at 04.10 clock in an area reported south of the mountain. Hamilton and 13 miles southeast of San Jose City Hall, according to the USGS.
The earthquake had a depth of 4.4 km, the USGS said.
People in the East Bay and San Francisco have reported feeling the earthquake. BART stop briefly to check for damage caused by the earthquake, but was back after a few minutes in five or 10 service, said a regulator.
An employee of Reid-Hillview Airport, the airport near the epicenter, said the continued operations as usual there.
"I felt, but we can not say, fall, and no aircraft were damaged or buildings were damaged, he said.
The owner of ornamental plants, vegetable seed sold outside of San Jose, 5810 Killarney Circle said.
"It was a precursor to some, a bit of a jolt and a shock," said store owner Pam Wiggitt adding that business was not damaged and was not interrupted.
"When they looked almost over," said Margie King, owner of MK Technical Services, an employment agency in 4349 San Felipe Road in San Jose.
San Francisco residents also felt the earthquake. "My cell was swinging and I took to detect a minute, it was not me or someone close to him," Pamela Bell-Brown, project manager said in the SFL data at 100 California St.
"Everyone in my office, he felt," he said.
A few aftershocks were at the same place, a provisional an amount of 2.6, according to the USGS.
The earthquake was in 2011, the list of USGS "great earthquake" that comes after the earthquake of 7.1 magnitude in Chile and a 7.0 earthquake in Argentina.
A spokesman said Pacifica Police Department has received no calls about damage caused by earthquakes or earthquakes.
