Ford plans to begin selling its first electric car end of 2011, the United States and Europe, the first obligation of five electric vehicles by 2013, the company is providing.
CEO Alan Mulally, Ford Focus unveiled a new power in a keynote at CES 2011 (Consumer Electronics), called it an important step to affordable energy-efficiency technology to the market.
Ford says the car is the equivalent of more miles per gallon is supplied (mpg-e), that the Chevrolet Volt, gas-assisted electric car from GM and is packed in three or four hours, half the time to recharge required Nissan Electric Leaf.
According to the EPA, the Volt is estimated that 93 mpg and power, 37 miles per gallon for gasoline and 60 mpg on average. The all-electric leaf contains a number of 99 mpg, and EPA.
Ford Focus power reaches a top speed of 84 miles per hour. The offer on a full charge was not disclosed. Ford said the car only "a sufficient bandwidth for most daily driving habits of Americans meet."
Prices were not announced.
Microsoft provides software for the energy distribution Ford Focus for owners of commercial vehicles to help when electrical are low. Ford expects the owners charge their cars every day and is equipped with several utilities together to meet the projected demand for electricity.
Ford has a new version of its Touch Drivers MYFORD connect technology investment to provide relevant information for electric vehicles, such as distance to the next show store and provide the spectrum of the waiting car. The company is working with Best Buy Geek Squad as charging stations are used at home.
Ford also offers an intelligent mobile MYFORD called, and a website will enable car owners to change the settings and configuration control of certain vehicles.
