Georgian authorities have tried to solve a terrible mystery: What is the cause of nearly 2,000 red wing blackbirds fall dead from the sky on New Year's Eve.
The bodies of some of the 2000 red wing blackbirds sent that inexplicably fell on a city in Arkansas to the laboratory to determine the cause of death.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says state farm and poultry Commission Laboratory and the National Wildlife Health Center laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin will examine the dead birds on Monday.
Commission spokesman Keith Stephens said that the birds fell into a field about a mile long and half a mile wide. He says this is not the first time that the birds fell from the sky Arkansas.
Environmental workers finished picking up the body Sunday.
Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said that the herd due to lightning and hail, high altitude could be noticed or may have been surprised by the fireworks.
