Jamie Lynn Spears

Jamie Lynn Spears
Today we found out that Jamie Lynn Spears has been quietly working on an album while her sister Britney has been busy promoting her own chart topper “Femme Fatale.”
Jamie Lynn’s new album reportedly features country-pop music, so it seems she’s pulling an Ashlee Simpson and trying to go a slightly different direction from her older sister.  She recorded a demo track in Nashville and her management team is trying to get her a record deal.
The album would be a big step for the former “Zoey 101” star that got pregnant at age 16, deciding to live her life out of the limelight after giving birth.  But Jamie Lynn Spears isn’t the only younger celebrity sister who has followed in her older sister’s footsteps (although Jamie Lynn definitely took it a little too far).
In addition to Jamie Lynn Spears and Ashlee Simpson, Ali Lohan is another little sister of a pop star that tried to follow in her big sister’s footsteps.  She hasn’t really been able to get her acting and music career to take off, but she has managed to record a Christmas album and do a little modeling.
Zooey Deschanel’s older sister Emily (“Bones”) starred in a movie years before Zooey’s debut, but the “(500) Days of Summer” star has since overshadowed her a bit.
M. Night Shyamalan’s muse Bryce Dallas Howard (daughter of director Ron Howard) has a younger sister named Paige who appeared in “Adentureland.”
Sports reporter and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Erin Andrews has a younger sister who is just as beautiful as she -- a professional dancer that appeared in the movie “Step Up 3-D.”
The Olsen twins’ little sister Elizabeth Olsen has made quite a splash in the indie movie scene with her roles in movies “Silent House” and “Martha Marcy May Marlene.”
And Dakota Fanning’s little sister Elle could become even bigger than her successful sister with her role in the upcoming alien movie “Super 8.”
So will Jamie Lynn become a big name again like some of these celebrity sisters?  Or will she go the way of Ali Lohan?  Hopefully she’s got a good head on her shoulders now, because the pop music world definitely doesn’t need another Spears robot-zombie.
